The UK Met Office have responded to the increasing possibility of a spell of potentially disruptive snowfall between Tuesday and Wednesday of the coming week.
The current outlook is still being toyed with by the various model outputs and thus snowfall amounts are not yet certain, However the Met Office clearly feel there is at least a high likelihood that snow will be affecting many of us.
The Met Office warning released this morning reads as follows:
Regions and local authorities affected:
- East Midlands
- East of England
- London & South East England
- South West England
- West Midlands
A band of rain pushing east across parts of England is likely to turn to snow during Tuesday evening, with snow continuing into Wednesday. Accumulations of 1-3 cm are likely quite widely, with accumulations of 5 cm in places. There is a small chance that some areas could see up to 10 cm, more especially over the higher ground.
